Legal Administrative Assistant
The Dahill Group is thrilled to be assisting our client, a highly respected Texas E&P company, in search of an exceptional and detailed oriented Legal Administrative Assistant to join their company. The company has been in business for over 100 years. This position will play a crucial role in supporting the legal department and will be the liaison between the legal department and other departments in the company in addition to other duties. The Legal Administrative Assistant will report directly to the VP of the Legal Department.
Duties and Responsibilities.
-Support the Legal Department in meeting specific and critical daily and weekly deadlines based on our client’s company needs and providing progress reports regarding same as required by VP-Legal.
-Serve as liaison between Legal and other departments as necessary, including scheduling and enforcing deadlines for all-time-sensitive Legal Department functions..
-Coordinate and attend both outside and inside meetings and communicate with outside counsel, brokers, partners, vendors, etc., as required to effectively represent the Legal Department.
-Organize and manage Legal Department databases and files for all our client’s company departments.
-Draft, proofread, format, distribute, file and/or save physical and/or digital documents.
-Maintenance of Master Calendar of all upcoming and pending deadlines, various reporting requirement timelines and other critical time sensitive matters for the Legal department. Provide follow through with other departments, Managers and Executives on deadline responsibilities and timelines.
-Coordinate with multiple departments for various functions including processing invoices, drafting and maintaining operations contracts and working with land data.
-Maintenance of corporate records.
-Perform other general tasks as required by VP-Legal.
Qualifications:
Detail-oriented and process-driven; team player committed to providing excellence in all aspects of work assignments.
Ability to communicate via multiple mediums professionally and effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel, Word, Adobe, and DocuSign.
Minimum of five to seven years’ experience in legal/executive/administrative assistant roles which required performance of the duties set forth above.
Associate degree and/or Certified Paralegal preferred but not required.
Minimum of three years’ experience in upstream or other oil and gas industry sector preferred but not required.
Ability to draft, review, edit, and/or summarize contracts applicable to the upstream and midstream sectors preferred but not required.
ADDITIONAL NOTES ON LOCATION AND WORK SCHEDULE INCLUDE:
Candidates will need to reside in Texas or Louisiana only!
**Required to work in the corporate office in Longview, Texas for those within 40 miles of Longview with a hybrid schedule of work from home 2 days a week and in office 3 days per week.
For those outside of 40 miles of Longview TX, client offers the ABILITY TO work remotely from Houston, Austin, or Dallas-Fort Worth, or Shreveport LA area with a 1 week per month requirement to work in the corporate office in Longview.
Salary & Benefits:
Salary: $65,000 to $70,000
Target Annual Bonus – 5-7%
Holiday Bonus – 1 week compensation
