About the Role:


This is a new, high-impact role created due to growth. Producers are writing more business than the current team can process—opportunity is waiting. As the Commercial Lines Quoting Specialist, you will own the marketing and placement of new and remarketed accounts, helping producers win and retain clients. You’ll have visibility with regional leadership and agency principals, direct access to top national and local carriers, and the autonomy to shape market strategy. Your work will directly drive revenue growth, with strong support and recognition for your expertise.


What You’ll Do:


  • Market/quote small-commercial new business and renewals across MA.
  • Design carrier strategies by industry/class; compare programs and recommend best-fit options.
  • Negotiate with underwriters to secure competitive terms; maintain strong carrier relationships.
  • Track submissions, manage timelines, and prepare clear proposals for producers.
  • Prepare binders/placement documentation and hand off cleanly to the Account Manager.
  • Hit turnaround SLAs (~10+ quotes/week) and keep accurate file notes in AMS360.
  • Collaborate closely with Producers & Account Managers on appetite, remarkets, and strategy.


What You’ll Bring:


  • Active P&C license.
  • 5+ years commercial quoting/marketing experience in an agency/brokerage.
  • Massachusetts commercial market experience is required
  • (If located out-of-state, you must have recent hands-on MA quoting/placement experience.)
  • Familiarity with MA mutuals and regionals (e.g., Arbella, Safety, Norfolk & Dedham).
  • Proven high-volume throughput with fast, accurate turnaround and strong written proposals.
  • Solid underwriting acumen and direct underwriter negotiation experience.
  • Proficiency in AMS360 (or similar with a fast ramp); disciplined documentation.


Work Setup:


  • Hybrid (Massachusetts office) — generally 3+ days in office.
  • Exceptional remote may be considered only for top candidates with deep MA experience and production pace.


Growth:


  • Clear path to Quoting Team Lead / Manager as the function scales; high visibility with regional leadership.


Nice-to-Haves:


  • CISR, CIC, CPCU or other commercial designations.
