Job Description
About the opportunity
A bootstrapped, profitable, fast-growing cybersecurity and compliance firm, on the Inc. 5000 three years running — is adding hunting capacity to a sales engine that already works. You'll join a lean, in-office sales team where every rep is overperforming, selling a service that companies are increasingly forced to buy: security audits, penetration testing, and continuous compliance.
The role
This is a full-cycle BDR/SDR seat; you own the client end-to-end. No separate AE is catching your handoff; you source, qualify, run the cycle, and close, with subject-matter experts joining you on calls and coaching built in from day one. It's the rare early-career sales seat where you're not just booking meetings for someone else — you own the whole relationship and the outcome.
What you'll do
- Source and create first conversations with security, compliance, and risk buyers through outbound (calls, email, LinkedIn) plus inbound follow-up (~10 inbounds/month to the team)
- Qualify and run the full sales cycle end to end — no separate closer
- Pull in subject-matter experts on technical calls (an SME joins roughly every second call), so you learn the domain as you sell
- Own client relationships through to signature, and keep them as they renew
- Build and manage your own pipeline with discipline; participate in the weekly sales meeting (Excel + AI tooling)
What we're looking for
- 1–4 years in an SDR / BDR / full-cycle sales role. Cybersecurity or tech background preferred for this first batch, but not required
- A genuine talker — sociable, high-EQ, builds rapport fast
- Entrepreneurial, self-directed, disciplined, and hungry — comfortable self-sourcing pipeline from a standing start
- Coachable — wants to learn the domain and take feedback (SMEs and training are built in)
- NYC/NJ-based, able to be in the East Brunswick office 4 days a week (Fridays off)
- Nice to have: basic Excel, familiarity with AI sales tools
