About the Company and the Role

Our client is a fast-growing national insurance brokerage expanding its presence in the Mid-Atlantic, including a new office in Fairfax, Virginia opening December 1.

As Team Lead, you will be the on-site leader of the Fairfax office. You will lead a team of 11 client managers and account executives, run the day-to-day operations of the service team, and support the office's two producers by building smooth processes for new business. Your biggest impact will be bringing the team together: getting everyone working in the same direction, keeping the energy positive, and helping the office adopt the standards and practices of a larger, growing organization. This role carries a lot of room for growth as the region expands.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Fairfax service team as the office's on-site leader.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of 11 client managers and account executives, including regular 1:1s and performance reviews.
  • Handle core people management, including timecards, PTO, employee relations, onboarding, and training.
  • Serve as the office's lead AMS 360 trainer and go-to resource.
  • Build the new business handoff process so producers' new accounts move to the right client manager quickly and cleanly, including client welcome letters.
  • Support the office's two producers with service processes and coordination.
  • Enforce SOPs and compliance standards, and help the team adopt company-wide processes.
  • Manage escalations with producers and carriers.
  • Step in on client service when needed to keep accounts covered during transitions.

What You Bring

  • Fluency in Spanish and English.
  • About 5 years of people management experience (2+ years will be considered for the right person). Substantial leadership experience from outside insurance counts.
  • At least 1 year of insurance industry experience.
  • An active insurance license.
  • Hands-on experience with AMS 360.
  • Experience with a mix of commercial and personal lines.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Excel and Word, and real, current experience using AI tools in your work.
  • Ability to work on site in Fairfax five days a week.
  • A likable, confident leadership style, with the ability to take control and be firm when needed.

Nice to Have

  • Experience opening a new office or leading a team through a transition to new processes.
  • Experience building new business intake, onboarding, or welcome processes.
  • Experience training others on AMS 360.
  • Insurance designations or ongoing professional education.
