Job Qualifications:

As a Controller in Chandler, AZ, you’ll bring the following qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA designation preferred).
• Experience:
• A minimum of five (5) years’ supervisory experience in accounting.
• Proven expertise managing financial assets exceeding $15 million annually.
• Preferred experience in a large private golf and country club community.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Jonas Club Management/POS software or ability to learn quickly.
• Advanced command of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
• Capabilities:
• Exceptional mathematical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong analytical and reasoning abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

In this Controller role located in Chandler, AZ, you will take on the following responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate all financial operations for all aspects of our exclusive private Country Club.
• Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, auditing, and cash management while ensuring compliance with GAAP, HOA regulations, and Board policies.
• Supervise accounting staff, encompassing Accounts Payable, Receivable, Payroll, and other clerks, along with scheduling and staff development.
• Create and implement budget plans, monitor variances, and provide financial analysis to the Board of Directors and management.
• Ensure accurate general ledger coding, bank reconciliations, and timely preparation of monthly trial balances and financial statements.
• Prepare and manage annual operating and capital budgets in collaboration with multiple departments.
• Administer tax submissions, insurance programs, and oversee compliance with state, federal, and local tax regulations.
• Manage the organization’s IT systems, ensuring software and hardware integrity, compatibility, and performance align with the operational needs.
• Coordinate quarterly and year-end audits and ensure seamless communication with the Board and the General Manager on financial matters.

You will play a critical role in strengthening our community association’s financial structure, helping maintain the exceptional quality of amenities for members.
