We are hiring a Business Unit Leader (BUL) for one of our clients, a full-service distributor and fabricator that provides conveyor system solutions to the processing, manufacturing, and material-handling industries. Their product line includes conveyor belting, belting accessories, power transmission products, hose and fittings, plastics, gaskets, and a wide range of conveying equipment and components. They pride themselves on delivering quality, value-added solutions backed by strong local service and technical expertise.
Role Summary
The Business Unit Leader will own the commercial strategy and overall performance of their market. You will be responsible for leading the sales team, driving revenue growth, improving profitability, and ensuring outstanding customer relationships. This is a leadership role for a strategic, hands-on sales leader who can create and execute growth plans, develop talent, and partner with operations to expand market share and increase EBITDA.
Key Responsibilities
Create and execute the commercial business strategy in partnership with operations leadership to drive EBITDA growth for the branch or business unit.
Develop and implement a business plan covering sales, revenue, expense control, and profitability.
Set sales targets for the team and ensure planned goals are met or exceeded.
Track performance metrics and report results to leadership as needed.
Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team through training, mentoring, and performance management.
Coordinate closely with marketing to generate leads and expand market reach.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities directly and in collaboration with Territory Managers.
Travel regularly with Territory Managers to build relationships, understand customer needs, and increase wallet share.
Promote the company’s products and services while maintaining a professional, solutions-oriented approach.
Ensure a safe, organized, and compliant work environment while protecting and supporting the company culture.
Represent the organization at a high level of professionalism in all client interactions and industry events.
Perform other duties and strategic initiatives as assigned.
Compensation & Structure
Full-time leadership position with a competitive base salary plus performance incentives.
Target annual earnings range from 120,000 to 150,000 dollars or more, based on experience and results.
Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and 401(k).
Paid onboarding and support to ensure success in the first 90 days.
Frequent travel within the territory, with occasional overnight stays as needed.
Requirements
Previous experience in the belting or industrial distribution industry.
Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, or a related field.
Proven track record in planning and implementing sales strategies.
Experience managing customer relationships and driving growth in competitive markets.
Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing sales teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to influence and build trust.
Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work safely in industrial environments.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
