About the Company:


White Ash Group has been engaged by a fully licensed Cannabis cultivation, processing, and

consumer packaged goods company to recruit their next Financial Controller.

They operate five lines of business servicing the domestic and global cannabis industry

including: wholesale product distribution, a consumer brands portfolio, a medical marketplace,

a full-service medical cannabis clinic, and a retail “farm-gate” store.


Summary:


Reporting to the CFO, the Controller is responsible for overseeing the organization’s

financial reporting, accounting operations, and compliance obligations. This role will

manage multiple finance and accounting roles, while providing various financial reports for

company stakeholders, internal staff, and executive team.


Role and Responsibilities:


• Prepare or manage preparation of monthly financial statements and reporting, quarterly

forecasts, cashflow, cash forecasts, and special analysis, including supporting

schedules/analysis and periodic reconciliations

• Lead roll with all aspects of cash flow management, including scheduling AP runs and

collection of receivables

• Handle payroll software and process payrolls timely and accurately

• Tax compliance, including HST, EHT, income tax and B300 filing

• Ensure timely preparation and submission of client invoices.

• Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.

• Maintain financial systems in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles

(ASPE)

• Perform inventory transactions, reconciliations, and analyses, including cost allocation

for cultivation

• Ensures diligent record keeping and audit trails• Processing all insurance claims and liability insurance

• Assisting in the preparation of budgets as necessary

• Other duties as assigned


Qualifications and Requirements:


• Degree or diploma in accounting, finance or commerce with minimum 5-7 years of

experienced required

• CPA or progress towards completion is a definite asset

• Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of organization

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and accounting software

• Security Clearance is plus. Must be in good standing to pass Health Canada security

clearance
