Operations Manager – Job Description

Location: Agassiz, BC (Full-time on site)

White Ash Group has been engaged by a fully licensed Cannabis cultivation, processing, and consumer packaged goods company to recruit an Operations Manager.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced, highly organized and driven Operations Manager to work directly alongside the Chief Operating Officer.

This is a hands-on, company-wide operational role designed for someone who wants to deeply understand how a growing organization operates. The successful candidate will initially work closely with the COO to learn systems, processes, departments and operational priorities, then progressively take ownership of day-to-day responsibilities, projects and cross-functional initiatives.

The objective of this position is to strengthen our operational leadership team, improve accountability and execution across the organization, and allow the COO to focus more of his time on higher-level operational strategy, leadership and company growth.

Key Responsibilities:

·     Work directly with and initially shadow the COO to develop a strong understanding of overall operations.

·     Learn the systems, processes and workflows used across the organization.

·     Coordinate operational projects involving multiple departments.

·     Track priorities, deadlines and commitments across the business.

·     Follow up with managers and team members to ensure agreed action items are completed.

·     Help identify operational bottlenecks, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.

·     Assist with implementing new systems, processes and integrations.

·     Maintain visibility into major operational projects and provide regular updates to the COO.

·     Prepare information, reporting and operational summaries required for decision-making.

·     Document important operational processes and procedures.

·     Help improve communication and coordination between departments.

·     Take ownership of routine operational issues and resolve them without unnecessary escalation.

·     Ensure decisions and initiatives from the CEO and COO are properly communicated, assigned and executed.

·     Gradually assume additional operational responsibilities as knowledge and experience within the organization grows.

Requirements:

·     Have approximately 3 to 7 years of experience in operations, business operations, project management or a similar role.

·     Have strong project-management and organizational skills.

·     Be comfortable working directly with senior leadership.

·     Be confident following up with managers and holding people accountable to commitments and deadlines.

·     Be able to understand complex systems and processes quickly.

·     Have strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

·     Be comfortable with technology and learning new business systems.

·     Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·     Be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.

·     Be proactive and identify issues before they become larger problems.

·     Have a low-ego, team-oriented approach.

·     Be motivated by increasing responsibility and long-term career growth.
