Business Development Manager

Type: Full-Time (Fully Remote)

About the Role:

Our client is a fully licensed cannabis producer seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to lead their B2B sales efforts within the cannabis industry, focusing on both national and international markets. This role is pivotal in identifying new business opportunities, building strategic relationships, and expanding market presence. While this position does not include direct reports, it involves close collaboration with marketing and operations teams to achieve sales objectives and establish valuable partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategic business development plan, with a strong emphasis on B2B sales both domestically and internationally.
  • Identify and engage potential clients, distributors, and partners in the cannabis sector to promote product offerings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the cannabis industry, ensuring a consistent pipeline of opportunities.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive insights in both national and international markets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tailor product offerings and marketing strategies for different markets.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to prospective B2B clients.
  • Track and report on sales metrics, providing insights and recommendations to enhance performance.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and networking events to build connections and drive business growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in B2B business development or sales, preferably within the cannabis industry.
  • Proven track record of developing new business and achieving sales targets in both national and international markets.
  • Strong understanding of cannabis market dynamics, regulations, and trends.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and partners, both within Canada and abroad.
