VP of Finance

At Peak Processing we co-create cannabis products that elevate partner brands—from hydrocarbon extracts and vapes to patented Envision beverage emulsions. As VP of Finance you will own the financial engine that turns regulatory complexity into growth, giving our people the resources to keep delivering exceptional products across Canada.

Performance Objectives

  • Stand up a scalable finance function that delivers a 10-day monthly close, audit-ready books, and board-ready packs within the first 12 months.
  • Build a 3-year financial model and capital plan that funds a 2× production-capacity expansion while protecting 20%+ EBITDA margins.
  • Secure and manage working-capital facilities and equity raises so inventory, extraction, and filling lines never starve for cash.
  • Implement cost-to-serve analytics that identify 8–10% COGS savings without compromising quality or Health Canada compliance.
  • Lead the annual budget and rolling-forecast process so every department owner has clear, real-time visibility into spend versus plan.
  • Establish internal controls and cannabis-specific tax/GST/HST processes that pass external audit with zero material weaknesses.

Environment & Resources

You report to the CEO and sit on the leadership team. You will hire and coach a lean finance staff of 3–5, own the ERP and reporting stack, and work side-by-side with Operations, Quality, and Sales in our Tecumseh facility. Budget authority covers all finance systems, professional services, and growth capital.

Essential Qualifications

  • CPA (or equivalent) plus 10+ years of progressive finance leadership, including at least 3 years as a VP or Controller in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record building finance infrastructure in a 50–200 person, high-growth company (cannabis, CPG, nutraceutical, or pharma preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with Canadian cannabis regulations, Health Canada reporting, and provincial tax/GST/HST requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to raise and manage debt/equity capital and to present confidently to boards and investors.
  • Comfort operating as a player-coach: you will close the books yourself until the team is fully built.

Role Selling Points

  • Patented Envision emulsion technology and end-to-end processing give us a unique, defensible position in a fast-growing category.
  • Collaborative, pride-driven culture where every voice is valued and every perspective celebrated.
  • Direct impact: your models and capital decisions determine how quickly we scale extraction, filling, and beverage lines.
  • Equal-opportunity employer committed to accommodations under the Ontario Human Rights Code.

If you want to be more than an employee and would rather join a supportive community united by a passion for excellence, apply today. Tell us how you will turn Peak’s next chapter of growth into a well-funded, well-controlled reality.
