The Finance Manager will oversee all aspects of our financial operations, including forecasting, budgeting, cash-flow management, management reporting, regulatory compliance, and financial planning. This role requires exceptional financial acumen, strong leadership capability, and the ability to build efficient processes within a fast-moving, highly regulated industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and mentor the finance team, establishing a high-performance culture and clear workflows.
  • Serve as the CEO’s primary financial partner, providing accurate and timely insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, cash-flow analysis, and scenario modelling.
  • Deliver high-quality management-level reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance updates.
  • Develop, refine, and enforce financial policies, controls, and governance frameworks across the business.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian financial regulations, tax requirements, and cannabis industry standards.
  • Manage the optimization, utilization, and improvement of the company’s ERP system to maximize operational and financial visibility.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—operations, cultivation, production, and commercial—to align financial planning with business activities.
  • Support capital management initiatives, including investor reporting, funding rounds, and external stakeholder communications.
  • Lead financial audits and coordinate with external accountants or advisory partners.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance profitability.
  • Build the financial infrastructure necessary to support future growth and the transition into a CFO-level role.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, commerce, or a related field
  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive experience in finance, ideally within manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, or another highly regulated sector.
  • Proven experience leading and developing finance teams.
  • Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and management reporting.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems, with experience enhancing ERP value and adoption.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders including the CEO and Board.
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-growing, evolving business environment with complex regulatory requirements.
  • Strong commercial mindset and readiness to evolve into the CFO role.
