Title: People Operations & Office Manager

Location: Houston, TX (In-Person / On-site)

Reporting Structure: This role reports to the Chief of Staff.

Responsibilities


As the People Operations & Office Manager, you’ll lead day-to-day HR operations while managing in-office logistics and employee experience in our Houston headquarters.


People Operations:


  • Own and streamline core employee lifecycle processes (onboarding, offboarding, benefits, compliance)
  • Act as the first point of contact for HR-related questions and policy guidance
  • Maintain accurate HRIS records and support performance management documentation
  • Coordinate with Finance and Legal on payroll, compliance, and policy updates
  • Track key people metrics like engagement, retention, and hiring pipeline health
  • Help with visa and travel-related processes (e.g., H1B, travel visas)


Office Management:


  • Manage day-to-day office needs—supplies, vendors, workspace organization
  • Plan and coordinate company events, team meals, and in-office culture moments
  • Oversee logistics like shipping, travel, visitor management, and facilities support
  • Create a welcoming and efficient office environment for employees and guests
  • Champion culture by supporting onboarding, perks, and employee engagement initiatives


Is This You?


  • 2+ years in People Operations, HR, Office Management, or similar roles—especially in fast-paced or growing environments
  • Deep understanding of HR functions (onboarding, compliance, benefits, HRIS systems)
  • Experience managing in-person office operations and vendor relationships
  • Highly organized and capable of multitasking across operational and people needs
  • Service-oriented with strong communication skills across seniority levels
  • Familiarity with U.S. labor laws, compliance, and basic payroll coordination
  • Eager to learn and take on ad-hoc responsibilities in a dynamic setting


Ideal Candidate


  • Experience in manufacturing, logistics, or industrial operations
  • Familiar with tools like Rippling, Greenhouse, Checkr, Ramp, Slack, and Google Workspace
  • Holds HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, etc.)
  • Experience scaling HR and office systems during rapid growth
