Looma is transforming the in-store retail experience through a network of engaging digital displays and content that help shoppers discover products and brands in a more meaningful way. We partner with leading retailers and consumer brands to bring storytelling, education, and commerce together at the point of purchase.

With about 10,000 screens deployed across thousands of retail locations, Looma is building the operational infrastructure, tooling, and support systems required to power reliable, high-performing retail media experiences every day. 

We’re a 40-person, post-Series B company entering an exciting phase of growth. As we continue to scale our footprint across retail environments nationwide, we're looking for a Vice President of Retail Operations to lead the next phase of our operational growth.


The Role

The VP of Retail Operations will own the strategy, execution, and scaling of Looma's retail deployment and support operations. This leader will be responsible for ensuring that every installation, rollout, support process, and field operation runs with precision while enabling the company to scale rapidly and efficiently.


This role is ideal for a builder: someone who thrives in growth-stage environments, enjoys solving complex operational challenges, and has experience deploying large-scale physical technology assets in distributed environments.


You will work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Supply Chain, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership to ensure Looma can continue expanding while maintaining exceptional quality and reliability.


Responsibilities

Lead Retail Operations Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute the operational strategy for deploying and supporting Looma's retail network.
  • Drive scalable processes that support rapid growth while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Own deployment planning, installation operations, field support, and ongoing maintenance programs.
  • Build systems, workflows, and operational metrics that improve efficiency, predictability, and quality.

Scale National Rollouts

  • Lead large-scale retail deployments across multiple geographies and retail partners.
  • Create repeatable playbooks for installation, support, troubleshooting, and expansion.
  • Manage operational readiness for new pilots, rollouts, and customer launches.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at a high standard of quality.

Build and Manage Strategic Partnerships

  • Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with hardware manufacturers, installation partners, electricians, low-voltage contractors, and other key vendors.
  • Establish mutually beneficial partnerships that improve service quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Evaluate and optimize vendor performance through KPIs and operational reviews.

Lead and Develop Teams

  • Directly manage operational leaders and support teams, including:
  • Director of Implementation
  • Network Support Team
  • Field Operations Resources
  • Build organizational structure and talent strategies to support future growth.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, continuous improvement, and customer focus.

Drive Operational Excellence

  • Develop operational dashboards, forecasting models, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Identify process bottlenecks and implement scalable solutions.
  • Partner with Engineering and Product teams to improve deployment efficiency and field reliability.
  • Lead incident response and escalation management during critical deployments and retailer-facing initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of operations leadership experience, including significant experience scaling operations in a high-growth environment.
  • Experience managing large-scale deployments of physical technology assets, such as:
  • Digital signage
  • IoT devices
  • Retail technology
  • AV systems
  • Networking infrastructure
  • Similar hardware-enabled platforms
  • Proven experience building and managing third-party vendor and installation networks.
  • Demonstrated success creating operational systems and processes that scale efficiently.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams through periods of rapid growth and change.
