Responsibilities

• Hands-On Development: Design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure software solutions. Actively contribute code and conduct code reviews. Uphold best practices in development to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Architectural Ownership: Shape the technical architecture to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance of our systems.
• Product Collaboration: Work closely with product teams to translate business needs into technical requirements and deliver impactful features. 
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance to a small, experienced engineering team, ensuring alignment with company goals and fostering technical excellence.
• Team Collaboration: Promote a collaborative and innovative environment, enabling effective contributions from the team while maintaining high engineering standards.
• Innovation: Leverage emerging technologies in AI/ML, generative AI, search, and marketplace platforms to enhance our product offerings.
• Culture Building: As a founding engineer, you will strongly impact the engineering culture, influence hiring practices, team dynamics, and collaboration styles.

Is this you?

• Strong Technical Expertise: 5+ of experience in Full Stack Software Development. 
• Must have deep proficiency in Python, REST API (FastAPI), React (Next.js, TypeScript), AWS, Docker, PostgreSQL. Highly desired but not mandatory experience in NLP, LLMs (e.g., GPT, Claude, Gemini, Llama), OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, and vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Milvus).
• Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate in English is a must.
• Startup Experience: A dynamic, entrepreneurial approach to problem-solving. Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with a “get-it-done” attitude.
• Problem-Solving: Adept at tackling complex technical challenges, such as scaling the platform, automating processes using Generative AI, ensuring seamless marketplace functionality.
• Team Collaboration: Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with team members from varied cultural backgrounds.
• Marketplace Platform Expertise (Preferred): Experience in building and scaling two-sided marketplaces or platform-based businesses is an advantage but not required.
