The Role


The Founding Account Manager is a hybrid of hunter + technical advisor inside enterprise accounts. Your mission is to take existing customers and expand them relentlessly — uncovering new business units, use cases, integrations, and transactional workflows that drive exponential growth.


Unlike a traditional CSM, this role is directly tied to revenue and expansion, but unlike a pure sales rep, you’ll also need the technical acumen to understand our product and customers’ systems. You’ll be expected to learn and speak credibly about integrations, APIs, and workflows so you can spot expansion opportunities and move them forward without always relying on engineering or product.


This is a founding role: you’ll set the playbook for how we expand inside enterprise logos at Thoughtly.


Responsibilities

  • Own and drive expansion revenue within existing enterprise accounts
  • Identify new business units, use cases, and workflows to grow spend
  • Navigate customer org charts with political savvy to build new champions
  • Speak the language of RevOps/GTM teams — understand APIs, Salesforce/HubSpot integrations, documentation, and data flows
  • Collaborate with CS/engineering for complex technical support, but maintain enough technical fluency to run expansions independently
  • Consistently beat expansion quotas and build the internal playbook for scale


Is this you?

  • Enterprise SaaS sales background is required — proven land-and-expand track record
  • Technically capable: you can read docs, understand APIs at a high level, work through Salesforce/HubSpot integrations, and speak credibly with ops teams
  • Strong hunter instincts: you don’t wait for leads, you create them inside accounts
  • Politically savvy: comfortable navigating large organizations and building new champions
  • Consultative and commercially driven: you combine relationship building with relentless revenue focus
