Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the software layer connecting Revel’s runtime to industrial hardware, including PLCs, specialized instrumentation, and other embedded systems.
- Design and implement low-level drivers and libraries from the ground up, rather than relying solely on existing frameworks.
- Perform board bring-up and integrate new hardware and compute platforms into Revel’s ecosystem.
- Develop high-performance, reliable software for safety-critical systems across aerospace, automotive, energy, and manufacturing applications.
- Partner directly with customers and hardware vendors to bring test systems online and troubleshoot complex hardware/software interactions.
- Identify and implement system-level performance improvements across compute, networking, and hardware interfaces.
- Work across a broad range of hardware and occasionally contribute to telemetry and data acquisition systems.
- Own technical problems end-to-end, from initial investigation and architecture through implementation, testing, and deployment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Strong programming experience in C, C++, and/or Rust.
- Experience implementing drivers, networking protocols, or low-level systems software from scratch.
- Hands-on experience with board bring-up and hardware/software integration.
- Strong understanding of embedded systems, computer architecture, networking, and hardware interfaces.
- Experience debugging complex issues across the hardware/software boundary.
- Experience developing or optimizing high-performance and/or safety-critical systems.
- Familiarity with industrial hardware such as PLCs, instrumentation, sensors, or data acquisition systems is a plus.
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, energy, manufacturing, robotics, or another hardware-intensive environment is a plus.
- Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced startup environment with a high degree of ownership.
