Responsibilities
- Source and build relationships with exceptional pre-seed founders and deal sources
- Independently lead diligence processes from first meeting through investment recommendation
- Develop investment theses and conduct deep market research across B2B and B2C sectors
- Spend the majority of time on sourcing, networking, and pipeline development
- Support and engage with portfolio companies post-investment
- Own a strategic, firm-wide initiative aligned with personal interests and firm priorities
- Represent Afore externally across events, conferences, and online platforms

Preferred Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience as a founder, venture investor, startup operator, angel investor, etc.
- Technical background in computer science or engineering
- Strong track record or clear potential in early-stage investing or founder evaluation
- Demonstrated ability to build a high-quality network of founders or deal sources
- High attention to detail, professionalism, and sound judgment
- Entrepreneurial, self-directed, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams
- Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate
