Responsibilities

  • Source and build relationships with exceptional pre-seed founders and deal sources
  • Independently lead diligence processes from first meeting through investment recommendation
  • Develop investment theses and conduct deep market research across B2B and B2C sectors
  • Spend the majority of time on sourcing, networking, and pipeline development
  • Support and engage with portfolio companies post-investment
  • Own a strategic, firm-wide initiative aligned with personal interests and firm priorities
  • Represent Afore externally across events, conferences, and online platforms

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience as a founder, venture investor, startup operator, angel investor, etc.
  • Technical background in computer science or engineering
  • Strong track record or clear potential in early-stage investing or founder evaluation
  • Demonstrated ability to build a high-quality network of founders or deal sources
  • High attention to detail, professionalism, and sound judgment
  • Entrepreneurial, self-directed, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams
  • Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate
