Title: Senior Fullstack Software Engineer

Location: New York, NY (In-Office)

Reporting Structure: Reports To: Chief Technology Officer

Company Description

Sparrow partners with credit unions to automate and modernize how they acquire and deepen member relationships. We’ve built the first marketing and engagement platform purpose-built for credit unions replacing generic systems like HubSpot and Salesforce with infrastructure designed specifically for the financial services ecosystem. With 150+ financial institution customers and rapidly expanding across lending and digital banking integrations, Sparrow is transforming how community financial institutions grow - empowering them to build stronger, more personal member relationships through intelligent, data-driven marketing.

Since 2020, Sparrow has achieved triple-digit annual revenue growth and maintained profitability for over 16 consecutive months, establishing itself as one of the fastest-growing, relationship-driven fintechs in the country. Credit unions are critical to the health of the U.S. financial system. As member-owned, not-for-profit institutions, they exist to serve people, not shareholders. This structure allows credit unions to offer lower fees, better loan terms, and more transparent financial products all while remaining deeply rooted in the communities they serve. Many reinvest directly into local economies, support small businesses, and build long-term relationships with members that extend well beyond a single transaction.

Today, credit unions are underrepresented in mainstream financial awareness. Many Americans are totally unaware of the advantages credit unions offer or even what a credit union is. Credit unions are slowly losing the fight with large national banks and fintechs that invest heavily in advertising, digital experiences, and personalized marketing and many of them remain constrained by legacy systems never designed for their member-owned operating model.

Without better technology, even the strongest member-first institutions struggle to grow, engage younger generations, and clearly communicate their value.

This is where Sparrow comes in. We help credit unions modernize how they reach, understand, and support their members, without compromising trust or mission. By helping credit unions better understand their members, personalize outreach, and act on real financial needs, Sparrow enables them to strengthen community ties, deepen trust, and continue delivering member-first financial services at scale.

About the Role

The Senior Software Full-Stack Engineer will work closely with the CTO and Head of Product as part of a lean engineering team of three on Sparrow’s flagship, banking-focused CRM platform, Crest.

In this role, you will be deeply involved in understanding product and feature requirements, authoring and executing technical design documents, and implementing high-quality solutions in a highly collaborative environment. You’ll work across the frontend, backend, or full stack depending on business priorities, and you’ll be an active participant in planning sessions and technical decision-making.

This is a highly product-oriented engineering role. Beyond determining how something should be built, you will be expected to engage critically with why it should be built—evaluating tradeoffs through the lens of customer value, product fit, and long-term platform health. Your perspective will help ensure we are building the right solutions for credit unions and their end users.

As a senior engineer, you’ll have meaningful influence over:

  • Technical architecture and system design
  • Team processes and engineering culture
  • Quality, reliability, and maintainability of the codebase

You’ll contribute to both greenfield initiatives and quality-of-life improvements for our growing base of credit union customers. Sparrow values strong ideas over hierarchy—this role provides a real platform for product and technical ideation, where the best ideas win.
