Human Resources Manager

Our client is a growing Church in Southaven that has been serving their members for over 130 years. The Human Resources Manager is responsible for supporting their 125 employees and maintaining a positive work culture.


Responsibilities

  • Serve as first point of contact for all HR issues for employees and managers.
  • Foster positive relationships with employees and address any concerns; mediate conflicts and promote a respectful work environment.
  • Manage full recruitment lifecycle, from job postings to offer letters focused on recruitment of a diverse workforce, retention of employees, and equitable compensation programs.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the senior management team, especially the Senior Pastor and Executive Pastor and provide problem solving on critical Human Resource issues.
  • Optimize the HR function, modernize, and refine key processes and activities aligned toward achieving strategic objectives.
  • Manage departmental budget.
  • Administer employee benefits programs and assist employees with inquiries and enrollment collaborating with external vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Partner with Legal Counsel to ensure compliance and mitigate organizational risks.
  • Support the performance appraisal processes.
  • Develop and implement a talent development program to support employee progression.
  • Counsel, coach, and guide managers and staff in addressing concerns and complaints to assure fair and equitable treatment while ensuring compliance with local labor regulations and practices.
  • Coach and mentor fellow colleagues/managers and develop leadership bench strength capable of addressing the challenges of a highly dynamic organization.
  • Attend and successfully complete all training required by the Church.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university; MBA or MA/MS in human resources, organizational development, change management, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR management experience
  • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office
