NECTO Selection has been successfully retained by an expanding main contractor to assist them with the recruitment of a site-based Health and Safety Officer.

The Job

Extension to an existing education building for a long-term client. 

Project duration approx. 12mths (Opportunity is full-time permanent).

Value approx. £12M

Other opportunities will arise for future expansion works on this site whilst the project is progressing.

Key Duties

Conduct toolbox talks

Carry out audits, inspections, and incident investigation reports

Provide leadership and coordination of day-to-day HSE requirements of the projects

Ensure Health and Safety Management systems for all projects are implemented and maintained

Determining ways of reducing risk on site

Implement and manage a safety management system on site

Manage sub-contractors and ensure all meet requirements

Manage the sites permit to work system

Requirements

Hold a recognised H&S qualification 

Minimum of 3/4 years’ experience as Health & Safety Officer

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Excellent planning, organisational, teamwork and presentation skills

Excellent literacy, numeric and IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office

Flexibility in line with business requirements

Always represent the company in a professional manner
