Project Engineer
Goebel Construction is a third-generation, family-owned builder that delivers safe, high-quality work on time through value engineering and lasting partnerships. As Project Engineer you will turn drawings into finished grading, paving, underground, piping, and remediation projects that protect people, budgets, and our reputation.
Performance Objectives
- Drive assigned projects to 95% on-time milestone completion by coordinating schedules, crews, and subcontractors weekly.
- Surface and implement value-engineering ideas that cut costs 8–12% while meeting or exceeding specs and safety standards.
- Keep RFIs, submittals, and change orders current so field work never waits more than 48 hours.
- Produce weekly cost forecasts that stay within 3% of budget and flag overruns before they hit the job.
- Support a zero-incident record through daily site walks, toolbox talks, and immediate hazard correction.
- Close out projects with complete as-builts, punch lists, and owner training so clients become repeat partners.
Environment & Resources
You report to a Project Manager and work side-by-side with superintendents, estimators, and field crews. You will use industry-standard project software, have access to experienced mentors, and split time between our Richmond office and active Bay Area sites. The company supplies the tools, vehicles, and safety gear you need to succeed.
