C.W. Matthews is hiring a Data Engineer to help build the future of how one of Georgia’s leading heavy highway contractors uses data.

For nearly 80 years, C.W. Matthews has helped build the roads, bridges, airport runways, and infrastructure that keep Georgia moving. As the company continues to grow, we’re making a significant investment in turning our operational data into timely, actionable insight for leaders across the organization.

This is a unique opportunity to build something foundational from the ground up. The Data Engineer will help design our first enterprise data architecture and then personally build the pipelines, models, and reporting infrastructure that bring it to life.

We’re looking for someone with:

• 7+ years of data engineering or architecture experience

• Advanced SQL and strong data modeling skills

• Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and integrating ERP or complex operational systems

• Knowledge of data warehouse, lake, or lakehouse architecture

• The ability to translate complex data into practical business insight

• A self-starter mentality and comfort creating structure within ambiguity

The ideal candidate is both an architect and a builder—someone who can see the big picture but still enjoys getting into the details and doing the hands-on work.

This position is based in-office in Marietta, Georgia.
