Job SummaryThe MEPF Superintendent supports the General or Senior Superintendent in overseeing the MEPF areas of a construction project through technical expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems. This position coordinates and schedules multiple construction crews, determines construction requirements, plans procedures, and ensures subcontract work meets required specifications. The position manages the inspection of work and equipment to verify the quality, safety, and commissioning of MEPF project operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage daily field operational objectives, timelines, and goals.
- Monitor overall project and work site progress; review processes and practices within teams to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality of delivery.
- Participate in monitoring the project schedule and budget, collaborating with Senior Superintendents to maintain and update them.
- Coordinate with subcontractor offices for recovery plans when necessary; meet regularly with staff and subcontractors to discuss progress, obstacles, and challenges, assisting in removing barriers to work completion.
- Read construction documents to determine requirements or plan procedures.
- Record and maintain information to produce operational reports, including personnel, production, project logs, and status data.
- Manage job site safety by actively conducting site walks, participating in inspections and training, and holding regular safety meetings with staff and subcontractors.
Preferred Qualifications
- EducationBachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Building Science, Engineering, Architecture, or Management/IT.
- Experience5–7 years of experience in the construction industry working on commercial and/or industrial projects.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing techniques.
- Working knowledge of laws and regulations governing large construction projects, alongside in-depth knowledge of building codes.
- Knowledge of construction documents, processes, materials, methods, techniques, and concepts.
- Knowledge of industry and manufacturer standards and installation requirements.
- Advanced knowledge of principles and best practices for building envelope systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Certifications & LicensuresValid Driver's License Required.
