EMEA | Media & Digital Operations Leadership

About the Business

This opportunity sits within a globally recognised media network that pioneered communications planning and continues to lead the industry in innovation and effectiveness. The network operates across 70+ markets with a strong EMEA footprint, bringing together expertise across strategy, activation, data, technology, and performance.

The EMEA team is structured to deliver best-in-class digital execution at scale, combining centralised expertise with local market agility. You’ll be part of a highly awarded environment known for driving operational excellence across complex, multi-market client ecosystems.

About the Client

You’ll be working on one of the world’s largest and most sophisticated automotive groups, representing a portfolio of globally recognised brands spanning luxury, performance, and mass-market segments.

Following a highly competitive global pitch, the account has been retained with a renewed focus on scaling digital excellence across regions. A key pillar of this transformation is the creation of centralised digital activation hubs, designed to deliver consistency, efficiency, and best-in-class performance across programmatic, paid search, and paid social.

These hubs are supported by a global media operations function, responsible for digital quality, governance, automation, and performance standards across all markets.

About the Role

This is a senior governance and operations leadership role, responsible for driving digital quality, compliance, and operational excellence across biddable media activity in EMEA.

You’ll own the end-to-end governance framework — from digital quality monitoring and compliance reporting through to process design, training, and market engagement — ensuring teams consistently meet best practice standards and protect brand reputation across all digital channels.

The role works closely with regional activation hubs, data & technology teams, and external verification partners, acting as the central point of expertise for governance, measurement, and quality assurance.

A key focus will be the strategic management of third-party verification partnerships, including activation of advanced measurement solutions, oversight of emerging channels such as Connected TV, and contribution to ongoing performance reviews.

This position offers strong exposure across a complex, fast-evolving digital ecosystem, with the opportunity to shape governance standards, influence operational strategy, and build leadership capability.

Key Responsibilities

Governance & Operational Excellence

  • Lead the digital quality alerts process, ensuring issues are identified, escalated, and resolved efficiently across markets
  • Oversee compliance and audit reporting, highlighting risks and driving corrective action
  • Partner with regional hubs and local markets to ensure consistent adoption of governance frameworks
  • Own governance operations, including workflows, documentation, and process alignment
  • Design and deliver training programmes to build capability across teams
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process optimisation to improve efficiency and scalability
  • Support client-facing governance discussions including onboarding, reviews, and performance conversations

Verification & Measurement Leadership

  • Act as the primary lead for third-party verification partnerships, overseeing performance, reporting, and issue resolution
  • Drive adoption of advanced measurement and optimisation solutions
  • Contribute to regular performance reviews, identifying opportunities to enhance effectiveness
  • Oversee governance standards for emerging channels (e.g. Connected TV), ensuring best practice is implemented across markets

Stakeholder Management

  • Collaborate with activation teams, data & tech functions, and local markets to embed governance standards
  • Translate complex governance, compliance, and measurement concepts into clear, actionable guidance
  • Act as a central point of expertise across a multi-market, matrixed environment

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a team of three, overseeing prioritisation, workload, and performance
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to build capability and support career progression
  • Act as a governance champion, driving a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement

Experience Required

  • 8+ years’ experience within a media agency or similar environment
  • Strong background in digital activation, particularly across programmatic, paid search, and paid social
  • Proven experience operating in a leadership or senior management role
  • Deep understanding of biddable media processes, governance, and quality standards
  • Experience managing senior stakeholders across complex, multi-market environments
  • Highly analytical, with experience working across data-driven systems and workflows

Desirable:

  • Experience working on large, global client accounts
  • Exposure to automotive or similarly complex, multi-brand industries

Why This Role

  • Opportunity to work on a globally recognised, multi-brand client with significant digital investment
  • High visibility across regional and global stakeholders
  • A chance to shape governance frameworks at scale across multiple markets
  • Strong pathway to further leadership and operational ownership within a leading media network
