Place of Work Primarily office-based in Carnforth, with regular customer visits (approximately 1-4 days per month in the field)
Hours of Work Monday to Friday work schedule: 7:30am–4:30pm or 7:00am-4:00pm Flexible working requests will be considered

Lead Our £21M to £30M Growth Journey
This is your opportunity to make a real impact. We're looking for an exceptional Sales Manager to lead our 12-person team through an ambitious growth phase that will transform our business. This isn't about managing from behind a desk—you'll be at the heart of the action, coaching your team, joining customer visits, and driving performance through your own example.
You will be helping shape our sales strategy while implementing systems that scale our sustainable growth and building a high-performing culture. You'll lead Business Development, Field Sales, and Account Management teams whilst personally managing key accounts—keeping you connected to customers and giving you credibility to lead from the front.
Key Goals for Year One
- Achieve team revenue target, while boosting morale and sales mindset
- Improve team sales conversion rate while reducing customer churn
- Implement KPI dashboard and establish performance review rhythms
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop 12 sales professionals to achieve their full potential
- Conduct regular 1-2-1s, performance reviews, and team meetings
- Foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Join team members on customer visits when needed — lead by example
Revenue Growth & Performance
- Drive sales performance to support company growth from £21m to £30m turnover
- Own the full sales cycle whilst coaching your team to do the same
- Implement and manage KPI frameworks to ensure accountability and results
- Personally manage a small portfolio of key customer accounts
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with business goals
- Identify new market opportunities and ensure the team is equipped to capitalise on them
- Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and commercial insight to Directors
- Collaborate closely with Marketing and Procurement to ensure cross-functional alignment
Main KPIs
- Report on the number of meaningful customer interactions per team member per week
- Secure the agreed number of opportunities progressing through each stage per week
- Achieve the agreed number of 1-2-1 coaching conversations or deal reviews per team member each month
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
- 3+ years of proven B2B sales leadership, managing mixed teams (internal and field-based) of mixed skill levels, in either the industrial, manufacturing, distribution, or technical B2B sectors
- Track record of growth with demonstrable success scaling revenue and GP with long complex sales cycles
Desirable Experience
- Experience in packaging, industrial supplies, or supply chain solutions
- Knowledge of load stability, palletisation, and technical product sales
Personal Skills
- Hands-on leadership style: A passion for coaching, team development and conducting joint customer visits.
- Confident and competent in planning, leading, and energising regular sales meetings, one-to-ones, and team reviews.
- Commercial acumen and strategic mindset: Strong understanding of sales KPIs, margins, forecasting, and performance metrics
- Technology proficiency: Confident using Microsoft Office, CRM systems (ideally HubSpot and Business Central) and sales reporting tools to drive data-informed decisions
- Customer-centric mindset: Genuine passion for understanding audience segmentation, targeting, client needs and building long-term relationships
- Confident and adaptable communicator: Can influence and engage at all levels, from warehouse floor to boardroom
- Organised and decisive: Excellent time management, able to prioritise multiple goals and tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, particularly in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
