About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Director of Sales and Marketing to lead the commercial strategy for a premier full-service hotel operating within the highly competitive Austin, TX area. With the Central Texas hospitality market experiencing steady year-over-year RevPAR growth, this property requires an innovative leader to capture market share, drive revenue, and elevate brand positioning. You will direct a high-performing sales team, implement targeted marketing campaigns, and deliver measurable solutions that directly impact the bottom line.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to maximize total hotel revenue, focusing on group, transient, and catering segments.

Revenue Growth: Analyze market data and STAR reports to identify trends, forecast accurately, and implement pricing strategies that outpace the competitive set.

Team Management: Recruit, train, and mentor a dedicated sales and catering team. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.

Brand Alignment: Ensure all marketing initiatives, digital presence, and promotional materials align strictly with corporate brand standards and messaging guidelines.

Innovation: Create forward-thinking campaigns that leverage digital marketing, local partnerships, and social media to capture new business in the Texas Hill Country market.

Collaboration: Work directly with the General Manager and Revenue Management teams to align business goals and ensure seamless execution of commercial strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in hospitality sales, with at least 2 years in a Director of Sales or equivalent senior leadership role at a full-service property.
- General understanding of the San Marcos, San Antonio, and Austin local markets, including established relationships with regional corporate clients and meeting planners.
- Proven track record of exceeding revenue targets and growing market share.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience managing departmental budgets and ROI on marketing spend.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
