Paralegal + Law Firm + Omaha

Our client, an established law firm is seeking a confident, resourceful Paralegal to join its Omaha office and support a busy Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights practice.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys substantive legal work, direct interaction with attorneys and clients, and managing matters where deadlines and priorities can change quickly.
What You’ll Do
- Assist attorneys with bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, collection, and related litigation matters
- Prepare and file proofs of claim and assist with bankruptcy court filings
- Monitor bankruptcy dockets, deadlines, and case activity
- Draft pleadings, discovery documents, correspondence, and other legal documents for attorney review
- Assist with post-judgment collection matters, including garnishments and levies
- Prepare and manage lien-related documents and UCC filings
- Assist with trustee sale documentation and processes
- Conduct preliminary legal, lien, and public-record research
- Communicate directly with clients, courts, clerks, and other outside parties to gather information and provide updates
- Organize and maintain case files while keeping multiple matters moving forward
- Support attorneys with client meetings, contested matters, and other projects as needed
What They’re Looking For
- Ideally 3–5 years of paralegal or relevant legal experience
- Bankruptcy and/or creditors’ rights experience strongly preferred
- Litigation, collections, or other transferable legal experience will also be considered
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle competing deadlines and quickly determine what needs attention first
- Confident communicator who is comfortable interacting with clients, attorneys, court personnel, and outside parties
- Self-starter who will take initiative rather than wait to be told every next step
- Detail-oriented, resourceful, and comfortable working independently
- Ability to adapt to different personalities and work effectively within a team
- Strong Microsoft Office and general technology skills
