HR Manager + Manufacturing + Omaha

If you’re an experienced HR leader who enjoys being close to the business, building relationships with employees at every level, and keeping a strong HR function running smoothly, this could be a great fit. This is an opportunity to step into an established HR department where the processes are already in place—you won’t be walking into chaos or expected to rebuild the function from the ground up.

Our client is a long-standing, privately held construction-related organization.

What You’ll Do

You’ll oversee the full HR function while managing one HR support professional. Responsibilities will include:

  • Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and leadership
  • Manage employee relations and provide coaching and guidance to managers
  • Oversee recruiting, onboarding and employee transitions
  • Lead benefits administration and annual enrollment
  • Oversee payroll processes and ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Support safety initiatives, workers’ compensation and OSHA-related requirements
  • Coordinate employee training and development
  • Maintain HR policies, procedures, employee records and HR systems
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment regulations
  • Partner with leadership on performance management and compensation matters
  • Support employee engagement and occasional company events
  • Maintain the organization’s employment-related online presence
  • Manage relationships with benefits providers and other HR vendors

What They’re Looking For

  • Broad HR experience with exposure to most areas of the HR function
  • Previous HR leadership or management experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both office professionals and a predominantly blue-collar/field workforce
  • Strong employee relations skills and sound judgment
  • Comfortable balancing compliance and risk management with the realities of managing people
  • Approachable, respectful and able to build trust across the organization
  • Organized and capable of learning and maintaining established systems and processes
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion

Why This Role?

This HR function is already well established, with documented processes and strong systems in place.

While this is an in-office role, leadership offers flexibility around start and end times, family commitments and kids’ activities.

Additional Details

  • Full benefits package
  • 401(k) with company contribution
  • Profit-sharing opportunity
  • Annual bonus opportunity
  • Three weeks of PTO

If you’re looking for an HR leadership role where you can own the function, work closely with employees and leadership, and join an organization that values stability, relationships and treating people well, we’d like to hear from you.
