Purchasing Specialist + Manufacturing + Omaha 

We are partnering with a growing manufacturing organization to identify a Purchasing Specialist who will support production by ensuring the timely and cost‑effective sourcing of materials. This role works closely with suppliers and internal teams to maintain material availability, support production schedules, and contribute to overall operational efficiency. 

This position is well suited for someone who values collaboration, strong supplier relationships, and accuracy in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Source and purchase production materials, including resins, colorants, additives, and packaging 
• Manage purchase orders based on forecasts, inventory levels, and production schedules 
• Ensure consistent material availability to support high‑volume manufacturing operations 
• Build and maintain productive, professional relationships with suppliers 
• Negotiate pricing and evaluate vendor performance related to quality, delivery, and responsiveness 
• Partner with production, scheduling, and engineering teams to anticipate demand 
• Monitor inventory trends and maintain accurate ERP data related to costs, lead times, and usage 
• Respond to urgent material needs to prevent production interruptions 
• Track market conditions and identify cost‑saving opportunities 

Qualifications 

• 2–4+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience; manufacturing experience strongly preferred 
• Experience working with raw materials; plastics or resins preferred, but adjacent industries considered 
• ERP/MRP system experience (IQMS, Epicor, SAP, or similar) 
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills 
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross‑functionally
