Talent Acquisition & Sourcing Specialist + Construction + Omaha
If your idea of recruiting is posting a job and waiting for applicants, this probably isn’t the role for you.
Our client is looking for a hunter — someone who enjoys tracking down hard-to-find talent, picking up the phone, building relationships in the field, and figuring out where great candidates are hiding. You’ll support a growing, multi-state organization by recruiting the skilled professionals who keep field operations moving.
This is a highly visible opportunity for a recruiter who likes autonomy, competition, and seeing a direct connection between their work and the growth of the business.
What You’ll Do
- Proactively source and recruit passive candidates rather than relying solely on inbound applicants
- Build talent pipelines for skilled trades, field operations, construction, transportation, and leadership positions
- Use cold outreach, networking, referrals, social media, job boards, competitor research, and creative sourcing strategies to uncover talent
- Get out into the field to better understand the jobs, people, and environments you’re recruiting for
- Develop relationships with trade schools, workforce organizations, industry contacts, and other community partners
- Screen candidates and manage relationships throughout the recruiting process
- Partner closely with operations leaders and hiring managers to understand immediate and future workforce needs
- Learn the business well enough to confidently speak with candidates about the work and career opportunities
- Track recruiting activity through the ATS and maintain organized candidate pipelines
- Travel to company locations and recruiting markets as needed
What They’re Looking For
- 3+ years of recruiting, talent acquisition, staffing, or sourcing experience
- Demonstrated success headhunting and engaging passive candidates
- Confidence making cold calls and starting conversations with people who aren’t actively job searching
- Experience recruiting within skilled trades, construction, manufacturing, transportation, logistics, field services, or a similar environment
- Strong sourcing and relationship-building skills
- A self-starter mentality with the ability to operate without constant direction
- Comfortable adjusting quickly when hiring needs and priorities change
- Competitive, persistent, and motivated by results
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with a variety of personalities
- Willingness to travel approximately 15–20%, including overnight travel
Why Consider This Opportunity?
- Remote flexibility for candidates located within reasonable proximity to a major airport, with an Omaha-based option available
- Opportunity to recruit across a large, multi-state organization
- Performance-driven compensation structure with placement incentives
- Medical, dental, vision, retirement, and additional employee benefits
- Company-paid business travel expenses
- Exposure to multiple markets, operations teams, and career paths
- Opportunity to help build proactive recruiting strategies rather than simply fill open requisitions
- Growing organization with opportunities for continued professional development
If you’re energized by the challenge of finding the candidate everyone else has overlooked — and would rather go find talent than wait for talent to find you — this could be a great next move.
