The Opportunity

As the Assistant Controller, you’ll play a key role in overseeing accounting operations for a diverse real estate investment portfolio. From managing month-end close and financial reporting to ensuring compliance with GAAP, you’ll be hands-on in every aspect of accounting. This position offers a clear path to the Controller role within the next one to two years for a motivated and capable leader.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Manage daily accounting functions including AP, AR, payroll, and reconciliations
  • Lead month-end close and financial statement preparation
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP and internal controls
  • Assist with cash management, budgeting, and treasury functions
  • Support fund accounting activities and financial reporting for multiple entities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to streamline processes and support strategic initiatives

What They’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA not required)
  • 2–3 years of experience as a Senior Accountant or Assistant Controller
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and full-cycle accounting
  • Experience with QuickBooks and other accounting systems
  • Real estate and/or fund accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to communicate effectively across teams
  • Adaptable and proactive during periods of increased workload
