People Services Generalist II + Collaborative Team + Omaha

What You’ll Do:
This is a hands-on role with our client supporting a workforce that includes both full-time and part-time employees. You’ll work closely with HR leadership and a HR Generalist while serving as a knowledgeable resource for employees throughout the organization.
Responsibilities will include:
- Take a lead role in benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, employee questions and coordination with brokers and insurance carriers
- Manage workers’ compensation and disability claims, documentation and follow-up
- Administer and track FMLA and other employee leave
- Support employee relations and help managers navigate HR policies and employee situations
- Maintain accurate employee information within the HRIS
- Partner with payroll to ensure employee changes, deductions and other information are accurate
- Support recruiting, onboarding and new employee orientation
- Maintain employee documentation and assist with employment verifications and unemployment claims
- Help ensure HR practices remain compliant with employment laws and reporting requirements
- Provide guidance and support to a more junior HR team member as needed
- Participate in employee-focused initiatives, wellness activities and other HR projects
What They’re Looking For:
The right person will bring well-rounded HR experience, but strong benefits experience is especially important. They’re looking for someone who understands the details behind benefit plans and coverage and can confidently explain those programs to employees.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
- Strong, hands-on benefits administration experience
- Experience managing workers’ compensation
- Knowledge of HR policies, compliance and employee relations
- HRIS experience; Kronos experience is a plus
- Experience supporting a mix of exempt and non-exempt employees is helpful
- SHRM or HRCI certification, or willingness to obtain certification
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to understand benefit plans, contracts and coverage
- A professional, approachable communication style and the ability to build strong relationships with employees
- The ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information
