Long-Term Temp Payroll Specialist + Hybrid + Lincoln

If you’re the person who catches discrepancies before anyone else even knows they exist, this is your kind of role. We’re partnering with our client, a large, complex organization that needs a payroll pro who can step in, own the process, and keep things running smoothly across multiple entities. This is a long-term contract opportunity where your expertise will actually be valued—not micromanaged.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Own the end-to-end payroll process across multiple entities and pay cycles
• Handle multi-state payroll tax filings (federal, state, quarterly, annual)
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, timekeeping issues, and system errors
• Act as the go-to for payroll systems—troubleshooting, enhancements, upgrades, and testing
• Partner cross-functionally with HR, Benefits, IT, and Accounting to ensure clean data flow and accurate reporting
• Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and support audit requests
• Build and pull custom reports using Excel (lookups, pivots) and reporting tools
• Support system integrations, bank files, and process improvements

What They’re Looking For

Must-Haves:

• 3–5+ years of payroll experience (high-volume or multi-entity a plus)
• Solid understanding of payroll tax regulations and wage & hour laws
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
• Comfortable working with deadlines, details, and problem-solving on the fly

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Lawson payroll systems
• CPP certification or working toward it
• Exposure to system implementations, upgrades, or integrations

• Hybrid schedule: 2 days remote / 3 days in office (flexible on days)
