Long-Term Temp Payroll Specialist + Hybrid + Lincoln

We’re partnering with our client, a large, complex organization that needs a payroll pro who can step in, own the process, and keep things running smoothly across multiple entities. This is a long-term contract opportunity where your expertise will actually be valued—not micromanaged.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own the end-to-end payroll process across multiple entities and pay cycles
- Handle multi-state payroll tax filings (federal, state, quarterly, annual)
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, timekeeping issues, and system errors
- Act as the go-to for payroll systems—troubleshooting, enhancements, upgrades, and testing
- Partner cross-functionally with HR, Benefits, IT, and Accounting to ensure clean data flow and accurate reporting
- Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and support audit requests
- Build and pull custom reports using Excel (lookups, pivots) and reporting tools
- Support system integrations, bank files, and process improvements
What They’re Looking For
Must-Haves:
- 3–5+ years of payroll experience (high-volume or multi-entity a plus)
- Solid understanding of payroll tax regulations and wage & hour laws
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
- Comfortable working with deadlines, details, and problem-solving on the fly
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Lawson payroll systems
- CPP certification or working toward it
- Exposure to system implementations, upgrades, or integrations

- Hybrid schedule: 2 days remote / 3 days in office (flexible on days)
