Controller + Construction Industry + Omaha

If you're a seasoned Controller who thrives in a fast-moving, hands-on environment—and you're energized by process improvement, cross-functional collaboration, and leading with integrity—this is your opportunity to step into a high-impact leadership role at a company that’s scaling fast and thinking long-term.

You’ll take the reins of the accounting function, helping to modernize and streamline systems while guiding a small but capable team. With exposure to multiple entities and job cost environments, this role blends strategic oversight with tactical execution—ideal for someone who’s not afraid to roll up their sleeves.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Lead the monthly close process and prepare timely, accurate financial statements
  • Maintain full ownership of the general ledger and account reconciliations
  • Oversee AR, AP, payroll, and all day-to-day accounting operations
  • Monitor cash flow, prepare budgets and forecasts, and improve financial visibility
  • Manage intercompany transactions and reporting across multiple business units
  • Collaborate with operations and project managers to track job costs and billing accuracy
  • Build, mentor, and lead a strong accounting team while instilling best practices and internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, state and federal tax filings, and regulatory requirements

What Will Set You Up for Success:

  • 5+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ in a controller or senior leadership role
  • Expertise with Sage 300 CRE (a must) and construction/job cost accounting
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple entities and high-volume transactions
  • Excellent communication skills—you’re the type who asks questions and seeks clarity
  • Proven experience with budgeting, internal controls, and vendor/cash management
  • You lead by example, pitch in where needed, and know how to grow a team

Why This Role?

This is not a seat-warming role—it’s for someone ready to shape the financial future of a growing organization. The leadership team values clarity, autonomy, and smart collaboration. You’ll have a strong voice at the table and a chance to build something that lasts.
