Mechanical Drafter + Refrigeration + Omaha

Our client is seeking a Mechanical Drafter to support the design of specialized refrigeration systems used in commercial and industrial facilities. This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with experienced project teams, visit job sites, take field measurements, and transform concepts into detailed construction drawings.

What You'll Do 

• Create and revise detailed mechanical drawings using AutoCAD 
• Assist with the transition from 2D drafting into more advanced 3D modeling and design 
• Visit customer sites to gather measurements and document existing conditions 
• Develop fabrication and construction drawings for industrial refrigeration systems 
• Work closely with project managers, fitters, and field personnel to ensure design accuracy 
• Update existing drawings and maintain design documentation 
• Prepare equipment, material, and valve lists as needed 
• Support engineering and project teams throughout the design process 

What They're Looking For 

• Experience with AutoCAD drafting 
• Mechanical drafting or design experience preferred 
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and layouts 
• Comfortable working both in an office environment and occasionally in industrial facilities 
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn a specialized industry 
• Associate's degree in Design Technology, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field is a plus, but not required
