ACCOUNTING 

The Accounting team at Lutz forms the backbone of our business, providing expert tax, audit, and assurance services with a personal touch. MAKE AN IMPACT 

As an Accountant at Lutz, you will 

Tax

  • Prepare and review individual and business tax returns
  • Conduct tax research and advise on compliance and planning strategies
  • Mentor and develop junior team members
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on complex tax issues and client strategies
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with tax regulations

Audit

  • Assist in or lead the planning and execution of financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations
  • Perform and oversee detailed testing of financial records, transactions, and controls
  • Identify and document audit findings, risks, and recommendations
  • Supervise, mentor, and train junior staff members
  • Maintain strong client communication and service
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with audit standards

Client Advisory Services (CAS)

  • Assist with or oversee general ledger management, month-end close, and financial statement preparation
  • Conduct reconciliations and provide financial insights to clients
  • Advise on financial reporting, budgeting, and process improvements
  • Mentor and support team members in technical and client service development
  • Maintain strong client relationships and deliver strategic financial guidance
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards

  

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Strong academic credentials (minimum GPA of 3.0 for entry-level candidates)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s is a plus)
  • CPA license or eligibility is preferred for all candidates
  • Relevant accounting experience (internship experience for entry-level; increasing leadership and technical expertise for experienced candidates)
  • Strong communication skills—ability to collaborate effectively with teams and clients
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
