Temporary Staff Accountant + Support a Team + Omaha

If you’re an accountant who likes variety, enjoys digging into the details, and wants a role where you can touch more than just one piece of the accounting cycle, this could be a great next step. Our client is looking for a well-rounded Staff Accountant to join a collaborative accounting team and take ownership of reconciliations, month-end activities, revenue and receivables, while also jumping into projects and other areas of accounting as needed.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Support the monthly close process, including journal entries, account analysis, reconciliations, and balancing accounts
• Perform bank, sales, and accounts receivable reconciliations
• Review daily sales activity and help troubleshoot payment or transaction discrepancies
• Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collection efforts
• Support expense reporting and review
• Assist with fixed asset and lease accounting
• Partner with other departments to research and resolve accounting-related questions
• Take on special projects and process improvement initiatives as they arise

What They’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 1+ year of general accounting experience
• General ledger and multi-unit accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Advanced Excel skills
• Detail-oriented with strong reconciliation and problem-solving abilities
• Self-starter who can independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Ability to provide rotating on-call support during select evenings and Saturdays

A Big Plus:

Accounts payable experience would be especially valuable in this role. Someone who has worked with invoice processing, vendor accounts, payment preparation, AP accruals, three-way matching, or resolving vendor discrepancies could bring additional versatility to the team.
