Controller + Drive Improvements + Omaha

 

We’re partnering with a well-established, fast-growing specialty subcontractor that’s looking for a hands-on Controller to step in, lead a solid team, and help elevate the accounting function during a key transition period. This isn’t a “sit back and review” type of Controller role; this is for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, get-it-done environment and enjoys being in the details while also driving improvements and being a true collaborator.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

·        Own the day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities

·        Lead and mentor a team across AP, AR, payroll, and staff accounting

·        Oversee month-end and year-end close processes with accuracy and timeliness

·        Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting efforts

·        Drive improvements in processes, reporting, and internal controls

·        Partner closely with operations and leadership to support business decisions

·        Navigate job costing, inventory, and intercompany activity

·        Be a key voice in preparing the organization for future leadership transition

 

What They’re Looking For

Must-Haves:

·        Proven leadership experience within an accounting function

·        Strong Excel skills and overall technical accounting foundation

·        Confident communicator who can work across all levels of the organization

 

Nice-to-Haves:

·        CPA or accounting-related degree

·        Experience with job costing or construction accounting

·        Background working with multiple entities and intercompany transactions
