BigFoot Staffing is seeking a Field Service Technician / Mechanic for a well-established material handling equipment company serving the Pasco, WA and surrounding areas. This is a direct-hire opportunity for a mechanically strong technician who enjoys working independently in the field, solving problems, and delivering excellent customer service.
The Field Service Technician will diagnose, repair, and maintain forklifts and other industrial material handling equipment at customer locations. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills, and the ability to represent the company professionally in a customer-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair forklifts and material handling equipment at customer sites
- Troubleshoot engines, motors, hydraulics, and electronic control systems
- Dismantle equipment to determine root cause of failure
- Identify and source required OEM parts
- Reassemble, test, and verify proper equipment function
- Complete accurate electronic service documentation in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle and professional appearance
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Continue developing technical skills and tool inventory over time
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of hands-on mechanical experience
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable with computers and digital documentation
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to lift 25–50 lbs and work in confined or awkward positions
- Strong teamwork mindset and commitment to safety
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Military mechanical experience
- Previous forklift or material handling equipment experience
Compensation
$28.32 – $40.00 per hour DOE
