Salary Range: $60,000 – $65,000 per year

Schedule: Full-Time

Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join a premier culinary team in a fine dining environment. This hands-on leadership role supports the Chef de Cuisine in all aspects of kitchen operations, from food preparation to staff mentoring and shift management.

Key Responsibilities

Culinary Operations

  • Prepare and present high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards
  • Maintain consistency and attention to detail in food presentation and taste
  • Assist with recipe execution, plating, and kitchen flow during service

Shift & Staff Management

  • Oversee kitchen operations during assigned shifts
  • Lead by example in maintaining a clean, efficient, and professional kitchen
  • Ensure all kitchen staff are performing their roles effectively and safely

Inventory & Ordering

  • Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management
  • Place food and supply orders as needed to maintain adequate inventory
  • Track product usage and reduce waste through smart ordering practices

Team Leadership & Training

  • Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques and kitchen safety
  • Foster a collaborative, positive, and respectful work culture
  • Provide feedback, support development, and assist in maintaining team morale

Health & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all health, sanitation, and food safety regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen and prep areas


Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent leadership role in fine dining
  • Strong culinary knowledge, knife skills, and kitchen technique
  • Confident leading shift operations and maintaining high standards
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Experience with inventory control and food cost management
  • Passion for hospitality and commitment to creating exceptional guest experiences
