Salary Range: $28-$32 per hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm

Location: Portland, OR

Description

We are seeking a skilled and meticulous Heavy Truck and Van Upfitting Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for customizing and enhancing heavy trucks and vans to meet specific client needs. This position requires a strong mechanical aptitude including: Truck and Van Systems, Equipment Hydraulics and Welding Experience. Responsibilities

• Perform heavy truck and van upfitting tasks including installation of equipment, accessories, and modifications according to specifications.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete installations.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks on heavy trucks and vans to ensure proper functionality after upfitting.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot any issues that arise during the upfitting process.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are safely stored.
• Adhere to safety protocols while performing heavy lifting and working with automotive components.
• Document all work performed and report any discrepancies or required repairs.

Necessary Skills and Experience:

• Proficiency in heavy truck and van repair techniques and maintenance practices.
• Experience working on equipment hydraulics.
• Welding experience with aluminum and stainless steel.
• Experience with hand tools and power tools commonly used in heavy equipment service.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with an understanding of heavy equipment repair processes.
• Familiarity with heavy truck/van restoration projects is a plus.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during vehicle modifications.
• Meticulous mindset with excellent critical thinking skills.
• Effective communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
