Performance Objectives

• Release inbound air shipments against the service sold by confirming flight arrival, recovering freight, and clearing holds the same day documents and cargo are available.
• Issue accurate arrival notices, delivery orders, and status updates within the same business day flight data is confirmed, with no rework from missing charges or wrong consignee details.
• Close document gaps—commercial invoices, packing lists, AWBs, and screening records—before they become storage, exams, or missed deliveries.
• Resolve exceptions (damage, shortage, airline discrepancy, customs hold) with a named next step and owner within one business day of discovery.
• Keep shipment files audit-ready so billing, compliance, and customer questions can be answered from the record, not from memory.
• Coordinate origin agents, airlines, cartage, and warehouse so door delivery matches the transit and Incoterms quoted.
• Protect Indirect Air Carrier compliance on every move: known-shipper status, screening evidence, and document integrity before tender or recovery.

Essential Qualifications

• Proven air-import or airline-cargo desk experience turning pre-alerts into released, delivered freight—not only data entry.
• Working command of AWBs, Incoterms, arrival notices, and U.S. import document sets, including what triggers an exam or storage.
• Familiarity with AMS filing concepts and Indirect Air Carrier / known-shipper requirements sufficient to stop a noncompliant tender.
• Ability to run a high-volume daily board and still answer customers with specifics, not status placeholders.
• Clear written updates that operations, billing, and the customer can act on without a follow-up call.
