Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end coordination of ocean import shipments, from booking confirmation through final delivery, ensuring timely and compliant movement of cargo.
• Review and process import documentation including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin to verify accuracy prior to customs filing.
• Communicate proactively with overseas agents, steamship lines, and port authorities to track vessel arrivals, resolve exceptions, and manage container availability.
• Coordinate customs clearance activities with the brokerage team, providing complete and accurate shipment data to facilitate timely entry filing and release.
• Arrange inland transportation and last-mile delivery, negotiating rates and scheduling with trucking partners to meet client delivery windows.
• Monitor demurrage and detention timelines, taking prompt action to minimize additional costs and communicating exposure to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships by providing proactive status updates, resolving issues quickly, and serving as a knowledgeable point of contact for all ocean import inquiries.
