Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of 5 operations and customer service professionals
  • Monitor team performance and ensure operational KPIs and service standards are met
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and employee development
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment focused on accountability and customer service
  • Provide daily operational support and escalation management

Airfreight Operations

  • Oversee international and domestic airfreight shipments from booking through final delivery
  • Ensure compliance with TSA, IATA, customs, and other regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with airlines, overseas agents, trucking companies, and customs brokers
  • Manage shipment tracking, issue resolution, and proactive customer communication
  • Review and improve SOPs to increase efficiency and reduce service failures
  • Ensure accurate documentation, billing, and shipment profitability

Customer Service & Client Relations

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Resolve escalated customer issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Support sales and business development efforts through operational expertise and customer engagement
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention

Financial & Branch Support

  • Assist with branch budgeting, reporting, and profitability goals
  • Monitor operational costs and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Support branch growth initiatives and strategic planning
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and operational procedures

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of freight forwarding experience, with a strong emphasis on airfreight operations
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience managing teams
  • Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and airline operations
  • Experience with CargoWise or other freight forwarding software preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced logistics environment
  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
