If you’re someone who enjoys leading a team, owning relationships, and building a business the right way, this will stand out. You’d be stepping into a Sydney division that already has a capable team, good systems, and a strong reputation behind it, ready for someone to take ownership and shape the next phase of growth.
The team in Sydney is seven people, and the division has been overseen remotely by leadership who are present, supportive, and trusting but not heavy-handed. The Director you’ll work with is entrepreneurial and personable, someone who stays close to the details without micromanaging and who backs people who take initiative. A significant portion of the business’s success so far has stemmed from this mix of structure and freedom, combined with a design-led approach, stable delivery teams, and strong relationships with consultants and repeat clients.
In the early stages, most of your time will be spent developing the business externally. You’ll be meeting consultants, speaking with PM firms, reconnecting with warm networks, and positioning the brand in the right rooms. As the division grows, your focus will naturally shift toward building out the team, shaping structure, refining strategy, and supporting delivery across multiple projects.
What we’re looking for is someone who understands this market. You’ll need proven delivery experience in office fit-outs and multi-floor commercial refurbishments, with a clear feel for how this sector operates. You’ll know how workplace projects are won, how consultants influence outcomes, and how to build relationships that lead to repeat work. This isn’t pushy, BD. It’s credibility through delivery, knowing where to spend your time, and being able to open the right doors with client-side PM firms, leasing teams, designers, engineers, and institutional owners.
You’ll be across everything from project oversight and client meetings to team development, tender reviews, and growing the Sydney pipeline. The national team is hands-on when you need them and gives you space when you don’t. The intent is to provide the incoming GM genuine autonomy while still maintaining regular access to a collaborative, grounded, and easy-to-work-with leadership group.
Your background will include leading teams and delivering commercial office fit-outs and multi-floor refurbishments, along with a good understanding of how to win work in this sector and maintain long-term client relationships. That balance of delivery, relationship building, and commercial judgement is what makes this role effective.
The salary is up to $300k plus super and potential bonus, based in Sydney’s CBD.
