Roberts Filter Group, a pioneer in water treatment for more than 135 years and one of the world’s most trusted names in municipal and industrial water treatment is seeking an Electrical Designer II for their Coatesville, PA location.


The Electrical Designer II will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of electrical systems and control panel designs for water filtration equipment and systems including creating electrical design packages, selecting components, preparing detailed schematics, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure design intent is carried through to production.

Electrical Designer II Responsibilities:

 

  • Collaborate with project engineers and other team members to design electrical systems and controls for water filtration equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Develop and maintain programmable logic controller (PLC) programs to control and monitor filtration processes and ensure the reliability and accuracy of control systems.
  • Specify and select appropriate electrical components, materials, and instrumentation equipment such as sensors, transmitters, and flow meters to monitor and control filtration processes.
  • Create detailed design for electrical panels and cabinets, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Prepare and review detailed plans and specifications for electrical installations.
  • Perform cost estimates and assist in budget preparation for electrical projects.
  • Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), wire lists, and terminal block drawings
  • Generate documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs), wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals, to support the manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Assists in system testing and troubleshooting, collaborating with engineers to identify and resolve electrical issues.
  • Ensures that all electrical designs and installations comply with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Support engineering change orders (ECOs) and revise existing designs to improve manufacturability, cost, or performance.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in electrical design and automation technology, suggesting and implementing improvements to enhance system performance and efficiency.

 

Electrical Designer II Qualifications:



  • Associate’s degree in electrical engineering technology or electrical design strongly preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in electrical design.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Designer or a similar role, preferably in the industrial equipment industry.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Inventor preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, PLC programming, and industrial automation.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and standards, such as NEC and NFPA.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be open to 25% domestic travel.
