Position Summary
The Laser Operator is responsible for safely and accurately operating the laser cutting machine to produce high‑quality parts used in Roberts Filter Group’s manufacturing process. This role requires strong attention to detail, consistent productivity, and adherence to all safety and quality standards. The Laser Operator works closely with the Production Supervisor and fabrication team to ensure materials are cut to specification and production schedules are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor the laser cutting machine to produce parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Set up machine parameters, load materials, and perform routine adjustments to maintain accuracy and cut quality.
- Inspect finished parts for precision, quality, and compliance with Roberts standards.
- Perform basic maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of the laser machine to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow all safety protocols, including PPE requirements, lockout/tagout, and safe material handling.
- Maintain accurate production records, including job travelers, part counts, and machine logs.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production issues, delays, or equipment concerns.
- Support general fabrication tasks as needed to meet production goals.
- Contribute to a positive, productive work environment through teamwork, reliability, and professional conduct.
- Other general labor duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Prior experience operating a laser cutting machine or similar CNC equipment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, measurements, and production documentation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods.
