SHIFT DETAILS: Tuesday - Saturday 8pm - 4:30am

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour


As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will work in all phases of the production process to ensure the facility

operates in a highly efficient manner, in which utilization rates are constantly monitored and maintained at as high a level as possible (100% being the goal). Ensure that the plant equipment is maintained in a proactive manner, by completing preventive maintenance and repairs in coordination with the scheduled downtimes and machine shutdowns.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Keep the shop area and production areas clean after repairs.
  • Ensure that proper Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) procedures are followed as outlined by

US Food and Drug Administration

  • Be proactive in identifying maintenance needs and promote the TEAM approach to fulfilling these needs.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines; equipment includes Evergreen filling machines, Wexxar case erectors, dairy conveyor case packers, Columbia palletizers, ultra-high temp pasteurization, homogenizers, motors/pumps, conveying Equipment and plant facilities air, refrigeration, and steam.
  • Comply with OSHA safety and health rules.
  • Maintain a professional working relationship with vendors.
  • Participate in developing and maintaining plant safety awareness.
  • Support the company priorities by looking for ways to improve Safety, Quality and Waste
  • Reduction/Productivity.
  • Always represent the company and yourself in a professional manner.
  • Maintain a sense of urgency during normal operations, breakdowns and down days.
  • Complete and maintain the maintenance log.


QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate must be able to understand all policies, procedures, instructions, rules and regulations (including all safety training and safety information) associated with these positions which are written in English. In addition, the successful candidate must be able to appropriately respond to these and, where needed, provide reports, presentations, information or communications in English.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • 3 to 5 years combined experience in plant processes including demonstrated knowledge of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, building maintenance, wastewater treatment, boiler operation and maintenance and refrigeration.
  • Degree or certificate in Electrical Engineering and/or Automation
  • Ability to read schematics and piping diagrams.
  • Experience in Using PLC’s and HMI software to gather data such as Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View SE & ME, Wonderware, and TIA portal
  • Provide technical to troubleshoot 4 to 20ma analog loops, current to pressure devices and safety circuits.
  • Work with 480v 3phase motors and contactors.
  • Work with CMMS system and execute work orders for Preventative Maintenance and Lubrication.
  • Mechanically inclined, tools required.
  • Experience working within a Food Manufacturer preferred, not required.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Strong people skills. Strong verbal/written communication skills


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, algebra and geometry. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical part, and electrical voltage. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
