Inspection Supervisor

We're partnering with a global aerospace manufacturer seeking an Inspection Supervisor to lead day-shift inspection operations within a fast-paced, quality-driven manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, this leadership role is responsible for developing inspection teams, driving operational performance, ensuring compliance with aerospace quality standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys mentoring teams while maintaining the highest standards of product quality and operational excellence.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Quality Inspectors
- Manage daily inspection operations to support production schedules and quality objectives
- Monitor key performance metrics including first-pass yield, scrap, rework, inspection throughput, and on-time delivery
- Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce non-conformance
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 quality standards and maintain audit readiness
- Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and other departments to resolve quality issues
- Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence
- Develop employee training plans and ensure certification on required inspection equipment and processes
- Maintain accurate quality documentation including corrective actions, employee evaluations, and inspection reports
- Improve inspection workflows, productivity, and departmental processes
- Provide hands-on support for complex inspection and quality challenges
- Communicate production priorities, quality updates, and safety expectations across shifts and departments.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree with 2+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, or
- High School diploma with 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering preferred
- Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints
- Experience with manufacturing processes, machining, tooling, and inspection methods
- Proficiency using precision measurement equipment including micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR requirements
- Ability to complete ongoing FAA testing and training.
Preferred Background
- Supervisory experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- 4+ years in manufacturing, quality, or inspection
- Aerospace manufacturing or AS9100 quality system experience
- Experience managing KPIs, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Success collaborating across multiple shifts and cross-functional teams.
