Talent Connections, LLC has been retained to identify a Human Resources Business Partner for Fortis Solutions Group, a fast-growing and innovative leader in the labels and packaging manufacturing industry. Headquartered in Virginia Beach, VA, Fortis operates across multiple U.S. locations. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, this role will serve as a frontline HR partner supporting employees, managers, and plant leadership across assigned business units. The ideal candidate will be based in Salt Lake City, UT. This role is hybrid 2-3 days on-site with some travel required.
ROLE SUMMARY:
As the Human Resources Business Partner, you will serve as the primary HR contact for employees and managers, providing day-to-day support and execution of core HR processes. This role partners closely with department and plant leadership on workforce planning, staffing, and onboarding, while translating enterprise-wide HR initiatives into effective frontline execution. This position is ideal for a hands-on HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment and enjoys balancing operational support with strategic partnership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for employees and front-line leaders on HR-related inquiries, policies, and processes.
- Be a culture and employee experience champion focused on driving positive change and growth for supported business units. Engage in company-wide culture and change initiatives to be able to translate them at the local and department level.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and support to managers on performance management, employee relations, team dynamics, and organizational change.
- Ensure consistent and fair application of HR policies, procedures, and practices.
- Manage employee relations concerns, escalating complex issues as appropriate.
- Partner with department or plant leadership to assess workforce needs, support organizational design discussions, and determine roles to be opened. Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to provide required job details and workforce planning insights.
- Manage end-to-end onboarding for all new hires, ensuring an effective and positive introduction to the company.
- Translate and implement enterprise-wide HR programs and initiatives at the frontline level, this includes programs in Talent Management, Communications, and Compensation and Benefits.
- Provide feedback to CoEs on program effectiveness and operational impact.
- Monitor and analyze HR metrics (e.g., turnover trends, engagement indicators) to identify patterns and recommend and implement interventions.
- Maintain accurate HR documentation and ensure data integrity in HR systems and support audits, as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or related field preferred.
- 5-7 years of progressive HR experience; experience as a generalist or HR business partner preferred.
- Experience in high-growth, multi-site organization, ideally in manufacturing or industrial sectors preferred.
- Strong understanding of HR processes, employment law, and HR best practices.
- Ability to build trust, influence stakeholders, and maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to utilize data to make decisions.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
